Taxus baccata, also known as the common yew is perhaps one of the most popular architectural plants in the UK, making either fantastic untamed specimen plants or can be trained and maintained in fantastic shapes – also able to be grown as a hedge.
Its dense narrow foliage that is almost needle-like is particularly dark and provides fantastic cover and screening when grown as a hedge. These can reach heights of over 12m in ideal conditions, howeber it is considered a particularly slow grower, achieving these heights at a minimum of 20 years.
There is a breif show of small yellow flowers during the spring, however these are almost inconspicuous, with this plant being grown for its foliage and utility.

The plant’s growth rate and size will vary depending on planting position & conditions. Bloom, foliage and interest may vary from photo upon delivery, dependant on season.
